2 hours: showing the various methods of bonding to varied surfaces, the way to use the self-flowing system.

4 hours: devoted to creating 3 finishes in standard colors that you can use in your portfolio.

Color Creation:
#4390 8 hour class

Understanding color is one of the most difficult aspects of decoration, this course demystifies the various ways to create a color scheme.

2 hours: Integrating powder colorant into the E-Crete trowel on overlay mix: the use of our 20 basic colors to create an unlimited palette: incorporating the pigment powders into the admix polymers to make a tint base.

2 hours: The ways in which we use our foundation coat overlay in relation to color and transparency.

1 Hour: Using E-Crete urethane stain: we show how to color it with universal tint, various application methods. Incorporating mica powder into stain to get metallic and iridescent effects.

Exterior Finishing :
#4393 8 hour class

The use of concrete resurfacing on patios and pool sides has been a staple for many concrete stamping companies for a long time. Now there is an opportunity to offer a solution with a more decorative artistic look, that can be applied around and on walls that surround patios and pools that is smooth and non slip.

Modello Designs:
#4393 8 hour class

The use of floor design masks is now becoming a popular way to create interest on cement overlay. This course explains the way we use these masking systems in conjunction with E-Crete.

The course consists of creating 3 samples on 24’’ boards plus a full floor sample demonstrating the use of spray equipment for detailing the design.

We will be using the E-Crete self flowing system to create a base to work over followed by a one coat texture.

The class includes the cost of the Modello designs.

Stone & Fantasy Marble:
#4391 8 hour class

This course shows the techniques used to create these types of finishes using a step by step process. We are lucky to have some of the most talented people in the field for you to learn from.

This 8 hour course consists of the way to apply trowel on overlay on floors and walls to achieve the looks of slate, travertine, Venetian plaster and other stones. Detailed notes come with this course, formulating 24 different finishes you can create yourself from our sampling kits.

An overview of the tools that are required for overlay finishing: the easy way to measure materials so the samples can be repeated.

We will show the methods available for sealing floors and walls.

We will create 4 finishes: terra cotta, Venetian marble, metallic green slate and rocky mountain slate.

Furniture & Walls:
#4392 8 hour class

These surfaces have become the new ground that concrete overlay is breaking into to give durable surfacing options for companies to offer their clientele.
Rick Fischer our program co-ordinator, has for many years pioneered the use of micro trowel overlay in unusual ways to great effect. In this course he shares that experience and creative energy to benefit the student whose market is less oriented towards floor finishing.

The course consists of application over Formica, which opens up a market in the resurfacing counter tops. He will show its uses over prepared MDF doors and table tops. Ricks use of E-Crete on panels has created a new market on wall and ceilings.
The course will consist of the creation of 4 finishes over Formica and MDF these boards will be prepared to receive E-Crete and finished with appropriate sealers that profile the texture to advantage.
